Mahindra Scorpio A/C Compressor Bearing noise - HCC JQYDA-01, When the AC bearing noise starts, it indicates the bearing may give up any time. This is applicable to any car compessor bearing. This needs to be attended immediately. Most cars have the power steering and alternator also running on the same belt, so if the AC bearing gives up, it also means the alternator and power steering do not work. Since the brakes of most modern cars are power assisted, they need vacuum generated by the vacuum pump on the alternator. So when the alternator does not work, the brakes do not work too..
