1992 Ford F150 Tailgate Hinge Repair/Replace, One tailgate side hinge had rusted through and fallen off of my new (to me) 1992 Ford F150. There is no replacement part for this piece, so we had to improvise or spend over $100 for another tailgate. I used a replacement hinge kit from Advance Auto Parts for a different truck. We measured the internal diameter of the replacement hinge, and found that it would go over the existing stock Ford bed-side round hinge. This fix is metal on metal, and is really the cheap way out. For me, the truck is just to be used as a hauling tool, and not a high milage/heavy use vehicle..
