f150 extended cab fix, F-150 extended cab door wont open. Plastic cable end has broke. See if its the top part or the bottom part that has broke. You will have to take the plastic bezels off from the inside. Find which cable controls the part not working, (top) pull the cable with your fingers, and the same time open the door with handle. The door will open. To fix the top, you will have to drill 2 holes to run a wire tie around cable, you will need a T27 star bit to take latch loose. To run the wire to through the holes and around cable, the latch has to be taken out. Once the wire tie is ready for tightening, then screw the latch back down. The end of the cable has a ball like end, it needs to be firm against latch before tightening wire tie, thus capturing the cable. Note, make sure your not pulling the cable down too hard to start pulling the latch open, or youll be starting over. So just pull the cable with your finger, while holding, tighten the wire tie. Thats the best I have found..
