2005 Ford F-150 Pinion Bearing Replacement - Bonus Unkie Scott Footage - Directors Cut, My F-150 pickup had a whine in the rear end most likely due to the fact I did not replace the crush sleeve when I replaced the pinion seal at the front of the rear differential. I likely overloaded the bearing and caused it to wear pre-maturely. This video shows the dissassembly, and removal of the inspection cover, axle shafts, rear disc brake assemblies, ring gear, pinion pin, pinion assembly, drive shaft and associated bearings. Be sure to use 75-140 synthetic gear oil!!!.
